The Iowa Community College Athletic Association (ICCAC) has named Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) women's basketball player Joniqua Clark the ICCAC Athlete of the Week for Division II women's basketball for the week of November 27 to December 3.
Clark, a sophomore from Cedar Rapids, played a key role in wins against Marshalltown Community College (MCC) and Southeastern (Neb.) Community College (SECC) during the week. She scored 10 points, dished out six assists and grabbed three rebounds in a 76-42 win over MCC and had a game-high 23 points, five assists, five rebounds and three steals in an 88-83 win over SECC.
For the season, Clark is averaging 12.9 points, 6.7 assists, four rebounds and two steals a game.
The DMACC women's basketball team is 9-2 on the season. The Bears will host the William Penn University junior varsity on Dec. 7. Game time is 6 p.m. inside the DMACC gymnasium.
