The Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) has named Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) baseball player Logan Ymker the ICCAC Pitcher of the Week for Division II baseball for the week of March 9 to 13.
Ymker, a sophomore from Sioux Falls, S.D., is the second DMACC baseball player to earn ICCAC honors this season. Sophomore Kolton Scherbenske of Rapid City, S.D., was named ICCAC Division II Pitcher of the Week for the week of Feb. 24 to March 1.
Ymker pitched six and two-thirds innings of two-hit baseball in helping the Bears to a 3-1 win over Indian Hills Community College (IHCC) in the second game of a doubleheader March 13 at the DMACC baseball diamond. He struck out seven batters and walked four.
Ymker was 1-0 with a 4.63 earned run average before the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) cancelled the 2020 spring sports seasons because of COVID-19. He pitched 11 and two-thirds innings, allowing 10 runs, six earned runs, on eight hits. Ymker struck out 10 batters and walked 10.
