DMACC baseball player Drew Owen named NJCAA All-American

 

  • Owen batted .424 with 10 home runs and 63 runs batted in
  • Owen also hit 20 doubles and four triples
  • Owen had a .923 fielding percentage

 

The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) has announced the 2026 Division II Baseball All-American Teams and DMACC's Drew Owen has been honored.

 

Owen, a freshman from Alleman, was named to the second team as an outfielder. He was the only member of the DMACC baseball team to be honored.

 

Owen batted .424 this past season with a .709 slugging percentage and a .500 on-base percentage. He collected 86 hits in 203 at-bats, including 20 doubles, four triples and 10 home runs. Owen, who appeared in 56 games, including 52 starts, drove in 63 runs and scored 75 runs. He was 10-of-15 in stolen bases.

 

Owen had a .923 fielding percentage with 112 putouts, eight assists and 10 errors from 130 total chances.

 

The DMACC baseball team finished the season with a 33-25 overall record and an 18-9 record in the ICCAC, good for fourth place in the league standings. The Bears were 3-2 in the Region 11 Baseball Tournament and were one of three teams remaining in the tournament when the dropped an 11-2 decision to Iowa Central Community College (ICCC) in an elimination game.
