The Iowa Community College Athletic Association (ICCAC) has named DMACC's James Glenn the ICCAC Athlete of the Week for Division II Men's Basketball for the week of November 27 to December 3.
Glenn, a sophomore from Altoona, is the third member of the DMACC men's basketball team to be honored by the conference this season. Sophomore Angelo Winkel of Algona was honored the week of Nov. 1 to 12 and sophomore Trey Lewis of Johnston was honored the week of Nov. 13 to 19.
Glenn averaged 23.5 points and 7.5 rebounds a game as the Bears improved to 10-1 for the season with wins over the Grand View University Junior Varsity (GVUJV) and North Iowa Area Community College (NIACC) during the week. He scored 22 points and grabbed eight rebounds in a 112-60 win over GVUJV on Nov. 27 and tallied a season-high 25 points in a 103-79 win over NIACC on Dec. 2.
Glenn was 8-of-10 from the field, including 5-of-7 from three-point range, and made his only free throw attempt in the win over GVUJV. He was 9-of-17 from the field, including 3-of-7 from three-point range, and made all four of his free throw attempts in the win over NIACC.
Glenn has scored 149 points and is averaging 13.5 points, 4.1 rebounds and 2.2 assists a game for the Bears, who ranked fourth in this week's Division II poll from the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA). He is shooting 52 percent from the field, having made 51 of 98 field goal attempts. Glenn is shooting 46 percent from three-point range with 28 field goals in 61 attempts and has made 19 of 21 free throw attempts for 91 percent. His season also includes 45 rebounds, 24 assists and 16 steals.
The DMACC men's basketball team, 1-0 in the ICCAC, is home to Iowa Western Tech today. Game time is 7:30 p.m. inside the DMACC gymnasium. IWT is 3-4 overall and 0-1 in the ICCAC.
