DMACC's Tyler Sansgaard finished in a tie for 16th place in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II Championship May 17 to 20 at Twin Hills Golf and Country Club in Joplin, Mo.
Sansgaard, a Covid-19 freshman (CoFR) from Nevada, was the only member of the DMACC men's golf team to compete in the tournament. He posted scores of 76, 72, 76 and 75 on the par-72 layout for a 72-hole score of 299, just 11 strokes over par.
Cecil Belisle of South Mountain Community College (SMCC) took individual medalist honors with a 72-hole score of 288. Belisle shot rounds of 71, 71, 72 and 74. SMCC won the team championship with 1,183 strokes, finishing 19 strokes ahead of runner-up Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College (MGCCC).
