- Sophomore Luke Linde and freshman Noah Moberg tie for fifth place

- Sophomore Ryan Schmierer finishes in 41st place
The DMACC men's golf team came away with a third-place finish in the Iowa Central Spring Invite April 10 and 11 at the Fort Dodge Country Club in Fort Dodge.
The Bears posted a 36-hole score of 572 and finished four strokes behind the winning total of 568 by Iowa Central Community College (ICCC). Southeast (Neb.) Community College (SENCC) finished second with 570 strokes.
DMACC shot an 8-over-par 292 in the first round and turned in a 4-under-par 280 in the second round.
ICCC shot rounds of 282 and 286 and SENCC posted scores of 286 and 284.
DMACC sophomore Luke Linde of Winterset and freshman Noah Moberg of Grimes tied for fifth place in the individual competition, shooting 36-hole scores of even par 142. Linde shot rounds of 73 and 69 over the par 71 layout and Moberg shot 72 and 70.
ICCC's Peyton Walker took medalist honors with a 3-under-par 139 on rounds of 71 and 68.
Other DMACC results saw freshmen Archie Nelson of Albert Lea, Minn., Grady Sigrist of Norwalk and Cade Sunde of West Des Moines tie for tenth with 36-hole scores of 144. Nelson shot rounds of 75 and 69, Moberg posted scores of 72 and 70 and Sunde, playing as an individual, had a 68 and a 76.
Sophomore Ryan Schmierer of North Liberty finished 41st and sophomores Fareez Alexander of Kimberly Western Cape, South Africa, and Joey Currans of Ames were 70th and 77th respectively. Schmierer had a 36-hole score of 152 on rounds of 75 and 77 and Alexander finished at 157 on scores of 77 and 80. Currans' 160 total came on rounds of 79 and 81. Alexander and Currans competed as individuals.
The DMACC men's golf team will play in the Deere Hawke Classic April 15 and 16. The first round will be played at the Deer Valley Country Club in Deer Grove, Ill., and the second round will be played at the TPC Deere Run Golf Course in Silvis, Ill.
