Four members of DMACC track & field team compete in national meet
  • DMACC finishes 16th in the 4x800-meter relay
  • Freshman Eli Page places 21st in the 1500-meter run
  • Freshman Zack Stoermer is 25th in the 1500-meter run

 

Four members of the DMACC men's track & field team, freshmen Eli Page of Vinton, Zack Stoermer of Des Moines and Hunter Landphair of Adel and sophomore Pat Heffernan of Dunlap competed in the 2025 National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Men's & Women's Track & Field Championships May 15 to 17 at Gowan Stadium in Hutchinson, Kan.

 

The Bears' best finish came in the men's 4x800-meter relay where Page, Stoermer, Landphair and Heffernan posted a time of 7 minutes, 54.94 seconds, good for 16th place.

 

Page and Stoermer also ran in the men's 1500-meter run, placing 21st and 25th respectively in the preliminaries and did not qualify for the finals in that event. Page's time was 4:01.67 and Stoermer crossed the finish line in 4:03.88.

 

The meet closed out the 2024-25 season for the DMACC men's track & field team.
