The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) has named DMACC's Eli Page the NJCAA Cross Country Runner of the Week for the time period of Sept. 9 to 17.
Page, a sophomore from Vinton, is being honored by the organization for the first time. The honor comes on the heels of Page being named Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Athlete of the Week for Men's Cross Country for the week of Sept. 8 to 14. Page is the first member of the DMACC men's cross country team to be honored by the NJCAA or the ICCAC this season.
Page, who was honored by the ICCAC twice during his freshman season, finished third behind two Wartburg College (WC) runners in the Trent Smith Invitational Sept. 13 at Mason City. His time over the 8K course was 26 minutes, 39 seconds and the field included 45 runners. Page finished tenth in the same race in 2024.
Page led the Bears to a second-place finish behind WC in the team standings.
The DMACC men's cross country team will run in the Dutch Open Sept. 26 at Pella.
