• Dighton batted .700 during the week with 14 hits in 20 at-bats
• Dighton's hits included three doubles and six home runs and she drove in 18 runs
• Dighton also pitched in three games and came away with two wins

The Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) has named DMACC's Emma Dighton the ICCAC Athlete of the Week for Division II softball for the week of April 11 to 17.

Dighton, a freshman from Boone, has been honored by the conference three times this season, earning Athlete of the Week honors for the weeks of April 4 to 10 and March 21 to 27. She is the sixth member of the DMACC softball team to be honored by the conference this season. Freshman Kendal Clark of Humboldt was also named ICCAC Athlete of the Week for Division II softball for the week of April 11 to 17 and freshman Madison Kearns of Glenpool, Okla., earned the honor twice, the week of March 7 to 13 and Feb. 14 to 20.

Three DMACC pitchers have been honored for their performances in the circle. Freshman Sydney Kennedy of Peosta was honored the week of April 4 to 10; sophomore Lexi Lander of Onawa was honored the week of March 14 to 20; and sophomore Abby Flanagan of Coggon was honored for the week of Feb. 14 to 20.

Dighton went 14-for 20 at the plate as the Bears swept doubleheaders against Marshalltown Community College (MCC) and Iowa Central Community College (ICCC). Her 14 hits included three doubles and six home runs and she drove in 18 runs.

Dighton currently leads NJCAA Division II in home runs with 24 and in runs batted in with 80. She has a 15-game hitting streak and has at least one RBI in each of her last 20 games.

Dighton also pitched in three games during the week and picked up two victories.

Dighton is hitting .435 with a .509 on-base percentage and a 1.080 slugging percentage. She is 60-for-138 with 15 doubles and a triple to go with her 24 home runs. In addition to her 80 RBIs, she has scored 60 runs.

As a pitcher, Dighton is 11-1 with a 3.66 earned run average. She has pitched 65 innings and allowed 42 runs on 76 hits. Thirty-four of the 42 runs allowed by Dighton are earned. She has struck out 53 batters, walked 14 and is averaging 5.71 strikeouts per seven innings.
