The Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) has named DMACC's Macee Reiling the ICCAC Athlete of the Week for Division II Softball for the Week of April 20 to 26.
Reiling, a sophomore from Dallas Center, is being honored by the conference for the third time this season and she is one of four members of the DMACC softball team to be honored during the current season. Reiling was also honored the weeks of Feb. 23 to March 1 and Feb. 9 to 15.
Bri Tigges, a sophomore from Urbandale, was honored the week of April 13 to 19 and Mackenzie Mohler, a freshman from West Des Moines, has been honored twice, the week of March 23 to 29 and the week of March 16 to 22. Kierra Jungers, a sophomore from Fonda, has been honored five times for her pitching performances, the weeks of April 20 to 26, April 13 to 19, March 23 to 29, Feb. 23 to March 1 and Feb. 9 to 15.
Reiling batted .684 with five doubles, three home runs, 18 runs batted in and 12 runs scored as the Bears won six games during the week.
Reiling was 0-for-3 with a run scored in a 10-1 win over Northeast (Neb.) Community College (NENCC) in the first game of a double header April 22 at the DMACC softball diamond. She was 2-for-2 with a double and a home run, three RBIs and two runs scored in a 13-1 win in the second game.
Reiling went 2-for-3 with a home run, five RBIs and two runs scored in a 13-0 win over Central (Neb.) Community College (CNCC) in the first game of a doubleheader April 24 at the DMACC softball diamond and went 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles, four RBIs and three runs scored in a 21-1 win in the second game.
Reiling collected four hits in four at-bats, including a double, drove in two runs and scored two runs in a 13-0 win over Hawkeye Community College (HCC) in the first game of a doubleheader April 25 at the DMACC softball diamond. She went 2-for-3 with a double and a home run, four RBIs and two runs second in an 8-1 win in the second game.
Reiling is batting .488 with a .929 slugging percentage and a .599 on-base percentage this season. She has 82 hits in 168 at-bats and her hits include 21 doubles, a triple and 17 home runs. Reiling has driven in 78 runs and scored 80 runs. She has struck out 12 times, earned 48 walks and is 3-for-3 in stolen bases.
Reiling is second in Division II of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) in walks and is fifth in RBIs. She leads the ICCAC in hitting and RBIs and is second in home runs. Reiling leads the Bears in hits, home runs, RBIs, walks and runs scored.
The DMACC softball team completed the regular season at 49-10 overall and 32-4 in the ICCAC with a 15-game winning streak. The Bears, ranked 10th in the NJCAA Division II poll, finished second to top-ranked Kirkwood Community College (KCC) in the ICCAC.
DMACC will be the No. 2 seed in the Region 11-B tournament May 1 to 3 at the DMACC softball diamond. The Bears will face NENCC in their tournament opener May 1 at 2 p.m. Third-seeded Iowa Central Community College (ICCC) and sixth-seeded HCC make up the other half of the bracket and will play at 4 p.m. on May 1. The double-elimination tournament continues with a championship bracket game and elimination games on May 2. The championship game is slated for noon on May 3 and a second championship, if needed, would be played immediately following the first championship game.
DMACC had its way against all three Region 11-B opponents during the regular season, sweeping four games from each.
The Region 11-B champion will advance to either the North Central District tournament or 2026 NJCAA Division II Softball World Series, pending the outcome of the Region 11-A tournament. No. 1-seeded KCC, eight-seeded Ellsworth Community College (ECC), fourth-seeded North Iowa Area Community College (NIACC) and fifth-seeded Iowa Lakes Community College (ILCC) make up the bracket in the Region 11-A tournament.
The top seeded champion Region 11A/B will move on to the 2026 NJCAA Division II Softball World Series and the lower seeded champion will advance to the North Central District tournament.
