Nine DMACC softball players earn all-region honors

Nine DMACC softball players earn all-region honors
  • Six DMACC players named to the first team
  • Two players earn second-team honors
  • One DMACC player receives honorable mention recognition

 

The Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) has announced the 2026 Division II Softball All-Region honors and the list includes nine members of the DMACC softball team.

 

First-team honors went to sophomore pitchers Kierra Jungers of Fonda and Jacki Baas of Bondurant. Both were honored for the second consecutive season. Also named to the first team were sophomores Macee Reiling of Dallas Center and Morgan Neuroth of LeGrand and freshmen Cali Richards of Des Moines and Mackenzie Mohler of West Des Moines. Richards was named to a catching position, Reiling to an outfield position and Neuroth and Mohler to infield positions.

 

Sophomores Bri Tigges of Urbandale and Erin Ades of Boone were named to the second team and freshman Dana Blake of Indianola received honorable mention recognition. Tigges and Blake were named to outfield positions and Ades to an infield position.

 

Jungers and Baas led DMACC to a 52-10 record and a 32-4 record in the ICCAC with each getting 14 conference wins.

 

Overall, Jungers is 22-6 with 19 complete games and one save. She has a 1.34 earned run average. Jungers had pitched 172 and two-thirds innings, allowing 45 runs, 33 earned runs, on 73 hits. She has struck out 315 batters and walked 32. Jungers, who is averaging 12.77 strikeouts per seven innings and .61 walks and hits per inning, leads the ICCAC and Division II of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) in strikeouts, 87 more than the next best pitcher. She finished second in the ICCAC in ERA and was fourth in wins.

 

Baas has a 24-4 record with a 1.93 earned run average and 12 complete games. She has pitched 152 and two-thirds innings, allowing 62 runs, 42 earned runs, on 119 hits. Baas has struck out 168 batters and walked 44. She is averaging 7.70 strikeouts per seven innings and 1.07 walks and hits per inning.

 

Richards is hitting .420 with a .573 slugging percentage and a .440 on-base percentage. She has 66 hits in 157 plate appearances, including 15 doubles and three home runs. Richards has driven in 43 runs and scored 23 runs. As a catcher, she has 438 putouts, 16 assists and has not committed an error this season.

 

Reiling is hitting .477 with a .898 slugging percentage and a .591 on-base percentage. Her 84 hits in 176 at-bats include a team-leading 17 home runs and 21 doubles. Reiling leads the Bears in RBIs with 78 and also in runs scored with 82. As an outfielder, Reiling has 46 putouts, 13 assists and has committed just two errors.

 

Neuroth is hitting .392 with a .660 slugging percentage and a .434 on-base percentage. She has 76 hits in 194 at-bats and those hits include 17 doubles, a triple and 11 home runs. Neuroth has driven in 51 runs and scored 61 runs. As an infielder, Neuroth has 34 putouts, 95 assists and 10 errors.

 

Mohler is hitting .443 with a .766 slugging percentage and a .493 on-base percentage. Her 85 hits in 192 at-bats include 27 doubles, a triple and 11 home runs. Mohler has driven in 62 runs and scored 68 runs. As an infielder, Mohler has 52 putouts, 52 assists and nine errors.

 

Tigges has 70 hits in 197 at-bats for a .355 average to go with a .614 slugging percentage and a .428 on-base percentage. Those 70 hits include 16 doubles, a triple and 11 home runs and she has driven in 44 runs and scored 62 runs. As an outfielder, Tigges has 41 putouts, two assists and one error.

 

Ades has a .359 batting average on 69 hits from 192 at-bats. She has a .578 slugging percentage and a .421 on-base percentage. Ades' 69 hits include 11 doubles, two triples and nine home runs. She has driven in 56 runs and scored 55 runs. Ades in second on the team in stolen bases with 10 coming from 12 attempts. As an infielder, Ades has 52 putouts, 77 assists and 18 errors.

 

Blake is hitting .383 with a .550 slugging percentage and a .444 on-base percentage. Her 67 hits from 149 at-bats include 11 doubles, a triple and four home runs. Blake has driven in 37 runs and scored 51 runs. Blake leads the Bears in stolen bases with 14 and has not been thrown out this season. As an outfielder, Blake has 33 putouts, one assists and two errors.

 

Conference champion Kirkwood Community College (KCC) swept all of the special awards. The Eagles' Shannon Finn was named Offensive Player of the Year and Mischa Reiner was named Defensive Player of the Year. Libby Trewin was named the Pitcher of the Year and Eagles coach Eric Freese was named the Coach of the Year.

 

The DMACC softball team, 52-10 and ranked 10th in the Division II poll from the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA), is playing Dawson Community College (DCC) in the Northwest Plains B District Championship May 7 and 8 at Glendive, Mont. The winner of the best 2-of-3 series will advance to the 2026 NJCAA Division II Softball Championship May 19 to 24 at Spartanburg, S.C. DMACC is seeking its 12th consecutive appearance in the national championship and hits 13th appearance since 2012.
