Four DMACC softball players earn NFCA postseason honors

The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) has announced the student-athletes chosen for this season's quartet of NFCA National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II major awards and four members of the DMACC softball team have been honored.

 

Sophomore Macee Reiling of Dallas Center was named to the NFCA NJCAA First All-American Team and to the Midwest Region All-Region First Team. Sophomore Kierra Jungers of Fonda was named to the NFCA NJCAA Second All-American Team and the Midwest Region All-Region First Team. Sophomore Jacki Baas of Bondurant and freshman Mackenzie Mohler of West Des Moines were named to the All-Midwest Region Second Team.

 

Reiling was honored as an outfielder, Jungers and Baas as pitchers and Mohler as an infielder.

 

Reiling hit. 449 with a .824 slugging percentage and a .567 on-base percentage. She collected 92 hits in 205 at-bats and those hits included 24 doubles, a triple and a team-leading 17 home runs. Reiling also led the Bears in runs batted in with 81 and in runs scored with 86. She was a perfect 3-of-3 in stolen bases. Reling finished the season with a .975 fielding percentage behind 61 putouts, 18 assists and two errors. Reiling was second in Division II of the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) in hitting and was third in home runs and RBIs.

 

Jungers finished the 2025-26 campaign with a 28-7 record and a 1.18 earned run average. She started 35 games, completed 26 and earned two saves. Jungers pitched 219 and two-thirds innings, allowing 49 runs, 37 earned runs, on 97 hits. She struck out 385 batters and walked 41. Jungers averaged 12.27 strikeouts per seven innings and allowed .63 walks and hits per inning. She led the Division II of the NJCAA and Division II of the ICCAC in strikeouts and also led the ICCAC in earned run average. She was second in the conference in wins. Jungers had a 1.000 fielding percentage on five putouts, 16 assists and no errors.

 

Baas had a 25-5 record and a 2.11 ERA in 2025-26. She started 33 games and completed 13 games. Baas pitched 162 and two-thirds innings, allowing 69 runs, 49 earned runs, on 128 hits. She struck out 180 batters and walked 46. Baas averaged 7.75 strikeouts per seven innings and allowed 1.07 hits and walks per inning. She was third in Division II of the ICCAC in wins and fifth in strikeouts. Baas had a .961 fielding percentage with one putout, 48 assists and two errors from 51 total chances.

 

Mohler hit .410 with a .716 slugging percentage and a .467 on-base percentage. She had 91 hits in 222 at-bats and her hits included 27 doubles, a triple and 13 home runs. Mohler drove in 67 runs, scored 74 runs and was 10-of-10 in stolen bases. Mohler had a .930 fielding percentage with 68 putouts, 52 assists and nine errors from 129 total chances.

 

The DMACC softball team finished the season with a 60-12 record, setting a new school record for wins in a season. The Bears won their 12th consecutive postseason regional championship and appeared in the NJCAA Division II Softball World Series for the 12th consecutive season and the 13th time in 14 seasons. After losing their second tournament game, they battled through the elimination bracket with five consecutive wins and reached the championship game where they dropped a 2-1 decision to Pearl River Community College (PRCC). Their second-place finish was their highest in their 13 tournament appearances.
