Five members of the DMACC women's track & field team competed in the Kip Janvrin Open April 24 to 26 at Simpson College in Indianola.
Freshman Ava Manning of Des Moines led the Bears with a 34th-place finish in the 1500-meter run, posting a time of 4 minutes, 58.83 seconds. Freshman Dakota Tromblay of Ogden also ran in the event and was 77th with a time of 5:39.49.
Sophomore Abigail Harding of Iowa Falls was 40th in the 800-meter run. Her time was 2 minutes, 27.34 seconds. Manning, freshman Jaycie Vohs of Galva and sophomore Tori Yunggebauer of Williamsburg also ran in the event. Manning was 50th in 2:31.55, Vohs finished 58th with a time of 2:38.57 and Yunggebauer was 63rd with a time of 2:50.83.
The DMACC women's track & field team will compete in the Region 11 Championships May 2 to 4 at Council Bluffs.
