Three members of the DMACC women's track & field team, sophomores Jaycie Vohs of Galva and Dakota Tromblay of Ogden and freshman Mariah Falkena of Dunlap competed in the 1500-meter run at the Region 11 Championships May 1 to 3 at Council Bluffs.
Vohs led the Bears with an eighth-place finish in 5 minutes, 3.94 seconds. Falkena finished 12th in 5:19.22 and Tromblay was 14th with a time of 5:22.57.
Juliana Sakat of Iowa Western Community College (IWCC) won the race in 4:40.29.
IWCC won the team championship with 297 points and DMACC was sixth with two points.
Vohs and sophomore Ava Manning of Des Moines will represent the DMACC women's track & field team at the 2026 National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division I Men's & Women's Track & Field Championships May 14 to 16 at Hobbs, N.M. They will run in the women's 5000-meter run, having met the qualifying standard for the event earlier this season.
