DMACC's Ava Manning named ICCAC Athlete of the Week
  • Manning finished ninth in the Dutch Open
  • Manning posted a time of 24:14 in the 6K race
  • Manning helped the Bears to a fourth-place finish in the team race

 

The Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) has named DMACC's Ava Manning the ICCAC Athlete of the Week for Division II Women's Cross Country for the Week of September 22 to 28.

 

Manning, a sophomore from Des Moines, is the only member of the DMACC women's cross country team to be honored by the conference this season. She was also honored the week of Sept. 8 to 14.

 

Manning finished ninth in the women's 6K race in the Dutch Open Sept. 26 at Pella. Her time was 24 minutes. 14 seconds. Manning finished behind runners from Central College (CC) and Grinnell College (GC), both NCAA Division III schools.

 

Manning led the DMACC women's cross country team to a third-place finish in the team competition. The Bears scored 99 points in finishing behind CC and GC, who scored 19 and 42 points respectively in finishing first and second.

 

The DMACC women's cross country team will run in the Indian Hills Invitational Oct. 10 at Cedar Creek Golf Course in Ottumwa.
